The round mouthpiece is designed to resemble the shape and size of a mother's nipple. The mouthpiece promotes the baby's preferred tongue position and sucking technique when breastfeeding because it is round. The round shape of the mouthpiece causes the edges of the baby's tongue to rise and curl around the mouthpiece, just like when breastfeeding.
This pacifier is recommended by midwives because it supports natural breastfeeding. The mouthpiece has a valve that lets air out when the baby closes his mouth around the mouthpiece. This causes the mouthpiece to flatten and shape to fit the baby's oral cavity.
The round, lightweight shell of the pacifier points away from the delicate skin around the baby's mouth, minimizing contact between the baby's nose and mouth. As a result, there is little moisture buildup from saliva, which can cause rashes and sore spots for the baby.
The shell comes in one size regardless of the mouthpiece size. It is made of 100% food-safe PP plastic.
